I am a geriatric dietitian, writer, speaker, mentor, and leader.

Thank you for visiting the High Calorie Recipes food blog! I am passionate about the field of nutrition and helping to stop malnutrition and muscle loss in vulnerable populations. I have over 12 years of experience as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist working with the elderly. 

As a volunteer leader in my field I have served in a variety of roles. For instance, I have served as the President of the Oregon Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the Chair of the Healthy Aging Dietetic Practice Group

I am a Fellow of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. And as a geriatric nutritionist, I have been a Board Certified Specialist in Gerontological Nutrition (CSG) since 2013.  But most importantly, I love to continually learn and to help others to grow. 

This food blog was created to provide delicious high calorie recipes to stop unintended weight loss and promote weight gain. As a geriatric dietitian I became frustrated by the lack of colorful and fun high calorie recipes online. So I decided to solve the problem with High Calorie Recipes! I want people to have tasty food options to get the calories they need for optmal health 

This food blog is a work in progress. We look forward to creating more content and improving our recipe options over time. Our hope is that this website becomes your go-to resources for high calorie and weight gain recipes!
