  • Banana
  • Spinach
  • Coconut Milk or Whole Milk
  • Mint Extract
  • Chocolate Chips

The main ingredient, and one that makes this delicious Avocado Mint Smoothie green, is avocado! Avocado is filled with healthy fats and is high in nutrients. It contains a high amount of fiber, magnesium, vitamin B6, C, E, and folate. Avocado’s are also high in potassium which is important for blood pressure regulation.

Another ingredient that is high in potassium is banana! Bananas are also high in fiber and vitamin C like avocados, making this Avocado Mint Smoothie a great post workout smoothie!

Spinach adds to the green color of our higher nutrient shamrock shake, and contains many beneficial nutrients. It is important to get about 2 cups of dark leafy greens per week.  

Ingredient Swaps

This Avocado Mint Smoothie is easily adaptable to what you have on hand, prefer, or allergy specific. 

To swap out avocado try using more banana, or even greek yogurt. Adding greek yogurt to your smoothie will also add extra protein! If you do not like bananas, you can substitute with more avocado or even mango! 

Spinach can be swapped for kale or another dark leafy green, however, you can’t even taste the spinach when added to smoothies! Any milk of your choosing can be used in this recipe, but to keep it high calorie use full fat milks.

How to Make Avocado Mint Smoothie 

Cut and dice half of an avocado. Measure out each of the ingredients for the smoothie. Freezing your banana before making your smoothie will help make it thicker and cold! Set 1 tbsp of the chocolate chips to the side before adding all of your ingredients to the blender.

Blend until smooth, and garnish with the whipped cream and leftover chocolate chips. Enjoy!

Ingredients
  

  • 8 oz whole milk
  • 1/2 avocado
  • 1 medium banana
  • 1/2 tsp mint extract
  • 2 tbsp chocolate chips
  • whipped cream

Instructions
 

  • Cut and dice half of an avocado.
  • Measure out each ingredient. Set 1 tbsp chocolate chips aside.
  • Add ingredients to the blender, and blend until smooth.
  • Garnish with remaining chocolate chips and whipped cream. Enjoy!

Notes

Tip: Add sliced banana to the freezer to create a thicker, cold smoothie!
